Because our eggs are delivered throughout the Northwest, we need to streamline our distribution to ensure all of our eggs are delivered as quickly as possible for freshness and quality. Answer:
Typically within 24-72 hours of our hens laying eggs, the product is loaded into our bright yellow refrigerated trucks and off to store shelves – meaning our eggs get from the hen house to your local store or restaurant as fast and fresh as possible.
Q: How do you care for your hens?
Answer:
We at Willamette Eggs Farms have a strong commitment to providing our hens with the best possible living environments. We ensure they are allotted tranquility, security and safety that exceed nationally recognized hen welfare guidelines. Willamette Egg Farms owners, Gordon and Greg Satrum, have been actively supporting the federal legislation, which will create a national standard for the humane care of hens! Q: What do you feed your hens?
Answer:
In order to provide our hens with the best quality food, we custom blend all of our feed to ensure we know exactly what our hens are eating, and that they get the proper nutrition to stay healthy. Our feed consists mostly of ground corn, soybean meal, canola meal and limestone for calcium (and strong egg shells). We never use growth hormones or antibiotics, and all feed ingredients are tested for purity and quality. We believe happy, healthy hens produce the best eggs!
Q: What kind of egg products do you sell?
Answer:
Because we raise our hens in a variety of ways, from conventional to cage-free, we are able to offer our customers the best assortment of fresh and packaged egg varieties all over the Northwest. We currently offer a range of fresh shell eggs including white eggs, brown eggs, cage-free, organic and omega 3. We also offer hard cooked, pickled, diced, deviled and liquid eggs.
